What type of building do you do?
We offer comprehensive support from the initial idea of building through to the final design process. Typically, this involves creating concept drawings, refining them to meet your specific requirements, and liaising with councils and relevant authorities. Once the construction drawings are finalised, we can provide accurate pricing and scheduling, allowing construction to commence seamlessly.
How long will my build take?
The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the project, such as the presence of underground basements, sloping blocks or second stories. Once the construction drawings are completed, we develop a detailed timeline and critical path for the project, providing you with an expected completion date. We want to ensure that we are as accurate as possible, before giving you your project timeline, to ensure you can organise your life accordingly.
Do you do architectural design as well?
We collaborate with architects who excel at providing innovative construction ideas and adding unique personality to your homes. Additionally, we can share various photos and plans from our past projects to help inspire your vision. With 20 years of experience, we have worked with a wide range of building products and can recommend high-quality materials and finishes that will enhance the look and durability of your home.
Fixed price vs cost plus - Which is better?
The choice between fixed price and cost plus contracts ultimately depends on your preferences, as both approaches can be effective.
Many clients prefer a traditional fixed price contract as it locks in all details prior to the build starting. We can then construct according to the agreed plan, with the option to make minor variations along the way.
Alternatively, a cost-plus structure allows clients to be more involved in the process. This method provides flexibility to make changes during the build, select specific trades, or alter products as needed. A builder’s margin is typically applied on top of the costs.
